The new Panasonic Tawers generation enhances the speed, stability and precision of welding processes
SOME’s Industrial Division continues to expand its production capabilities with the addition of a new Panasonic robotic welding cell. This new installation, configured with two robots and two workstations, allows assemblies to be prepared and the welding operation to be carried out within the same work cycle.
This configuration delivers a clear improvement in efficiency: while one station is working on the welding process, the other can be prepared for the next assembly. This helps reduce downtime, improve production flow and increase responsiveness in projects with high technical requirements.
The new cell incorporates 4th-generation Panasonic Tawers robots, a technology that provides more stable, precise and productive welding. Its advanced process control achieves cleaner weld beads and reduces the need for subsequent rework, thereby improving the final finish of the parts.
The Panasonic TM-1800 model stands out for its rigid structure and high-resolution encoders, which help maintain a highly precise trajectory during welding. This is especially important for parts and assemblies where repeatability, arc stability and a constant torch position must be guaranteed.
In addition, compared with G3 systems, 4th-generation Tawers robots can improve maximum axis speed by up to 27% thanks to more efficient acceleration and deceleration control. In the TM-1800, this translates into more agile movements and a reduction in cycle time.
This addition strengthens an area in which SOME already has experience, with a single-robot Panasonic cell and a cell with a Fronius collaborative robot. With this new installation, the Industrial Division consolidates its commitment to more automated, efficient and reliable welding processes.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 (8M), we would like to share three professional journeys of three women who have built their careers in an industrial environment traditionally dominated by men. Three different perspectives —production, logistics and management— united by a common thread: vocation, professional rigour and perseverance.
