The Consell Empresarial d’Osona and Sant Tomàs organised the event “Diversity with value: how inclusion generates benefits for organisations” at the Seminari de Vic, a meeting aimed at local companies and organisations to reflect on labour inclusion and the role organisations can play in building a more inclusive region.

The session combined an explanation of the current legal framework with real experiences from companies that incorporate people with intellectual disabilities into their workforces or work with formulas such as labour enclaves.

Beyond regulatory compliance, the event focused on the value that diversity brings within organisations and its ability to strengthen internal culture, commitment and the teams’ sense of belonging.

In this context, SOME shared its experience as a metallurgical company from Sant Quirze de Besora that works with Sant Tomàs labour enclaves. Martí Febrer, People Manager at SOME, explained that, in a highly competitive sector with demanding quality and cost requirements, the company has seen the resilience and commitment of the people incorporated through these programmes
.
Febrer also highlighted that the benefits go beyond legal compliance: they have an ethical and social responsibility impact, help manage more diverse teams and bring organisational advantages. He also stressed that, with good leadership and the support of specialised professionals, these environments can foster more structured, cohesive and quality-oriented teams.
