Ramon Mena takes over as General Manager following Yago Torrent’s retirement.

Yago Torrent, a Phd Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, concludes a professional career spanning over 50 years, marked by a diverse and distinguished trajectory. After starting in the banking sector, he transitioned to truck engineering and later specialised in managing multinational companies. In 2012, during a challenging global economic period, Torrent joined the SOME group, taking on the challenge of turning the company around. Over more than 12 years of leadership as General Manager, he transformed the group into a more diversified and competitive company. In December 2024, he retired, leaving behind a solid team and a succession plan focused on competitiveness.



Ramon Mena takes the helm, the owner of SOME and heir to the legacy of the Mena family, founders of SOME in 1973. A graduate in Business Administration and Management (ADE) and trained at IESE, he has been part of the group since 2009, starting his career in the commercial department. His entrepreneurial vision led him to take on the role of Automotive Commercial Director in 2016. Now, as the new General Manager, he leads the SOME group with the goal of consolidating its industrial leadership and exploring new growth opportunities.

This leadership transition symbolises the continuity of the prosperity achieved under Yago Torrent’s direction. Ramon Mena steps into this role with the strength of his family ties to the company and the experience gained alongside Torrent, maintaining a solid management team.
