The evening brought together clients, employees and representatives of local authorities to celebrate the company’s 50 years in Sant Quirze de Besora.
SOME, a leading company in the industrial metal stamping sector, is holding a series of events to mark its 50-year milestone. After the commemorative exhibition at the Casa de Cultura in Sant Quirze de Besora, the next event was the dinner held in the Castle of Santa Margarida de Calldetenes.
The dinner was attended by special guest Roger Torrent, the Catalan Minister of Business and Labour, as well as clients, business owners and representatives of local authorities, including the Mayor of Sant Quirze, David Solà, and the Chairman of the Vall del Ges, Orís and Bisaura Consortium, Marçal Ortuño. The event was also attended by another member of the Catalan Government, Teresa Clotet, Head of Territorial Services for Business and Labour in Central Catalonia.
The evening was hosted by the Director of SOME’s Industrial Division, David Roura. A short video including heartfelt words from the company’s first workers in 1973 was followed by speeches from the company’s General Manager, Yago Torrent, and Minister Roger Torrent, who highlighted the significance of Catalonia’s culture of industry and the successful track record of SOME.
During his speech, Minister Torrent praised the company's dedication and excellence in the industrial field. He also stressed the importance of preserving and promoting industrial culture as an integral part of Catalan identity.
The event was rounded off with a toast proposed by Ramon Mena, Director of the Automotive Division, who thanked the company’s friends and workers for attending. The soprano from Osona, Judit Muñoz, accompanied by the pianist Hug Vilamala, provided the musical accompaniment for the evening.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 (8M), we would like to share three professional journeys of three women who have built their careers in an industrial environment traditionally dominated by men. Three different perspectives —production, logistics and management— united by a common thread: vocation, professional rigour and perseverance.

With the upcoming celebration of 8M, equality once again takes centre stage in public debate. It is an opportunity to recognise the rights that have been won and, at the same time, to remember that the professional world still has ground to cover in order to guarantee a real equality of opportunity between women and men.
