8M | Àngels Fàbregas, Head of Dispatch and Materials Reception

With the upcoming celebration of 8M, equality once again takes centre stage in public debate. It is an opportunity to recognise the rights that have been won and, at the same time, to remember that the professional world still has ground to cover in order to guarantee a real equality of opportunity between women and men.

8M | Àngels Fàbregas, Head of Dispatch and Materials Reception

With the celebration of 8M 2026, we want to share three professional careers of three women who have built their paths in an industrial environment traditionally dominated by men. Three different perspectives that share a common thread: vocation, professional rigour and perseverance.

Àngels Fàbregas, Eva Burgos and Blanca Ayats explain their careers in three interviews that we will publish progressively until 8 March.

Àngels Fàbregas
has been part of the company since 2005, when she joined as a production administrator. She experienced first-hand the creation and growth of the new warehouse. She is currently Head of Dispatch and Materials Reception.

Àngels Fàbregas

If I have felt that I had to prove more, it has been because of my age, for being young at that time, not for being a woman.

Àngels, what has your journey within the company been and how have you evolved?
After one year working at SOME, the new warehouse building was constructed and the SAP IT system was implemented, and I moved on to manage all the administrative side of the warehouse from its beginnings. The warehouse continued to grow, shipment volumes increased as well, and over the years I have taken on more responsibilities. Following a very difficult moment for the team, I took responsibility for the area and I am currently Head of Dispatch, Materials Reception and Logistics.

At any point in your career have you felt the need to particularly prove your knowledge or professional worth?
Not especially for being a woman; if at any time I felt I had to prove something more, it was more due to my age. When I took on responsibilities, I could feel young compared to people with many years of experience, but I have never felt questioned because of being a woman.

With the years you have spent in industry, how has the role of women in the industrial field changed?
In my case I have not noticed a very big change in treatment, but it is true that there are still few women in positions of responsibility within industry. I do not think there is a clear barrier; it is more a sector issue, because traditionally there are more men. On the administrative side, however, there are many more women.

What skills or competences are key today to manage logistics in a company like SOME?
Above all, adaptability. Logistics is constantly changing: clients increase, decrease, change types of materials… and you have to keep adjusting continuously. Order, good organisation and an IT system that supports you are also key. And, above all, an attitude of continuous improvement and the courage to implement changes when the market requires it.

What would you say to a girl who wants to start working in industry?
That nowadays women and men can do the same job. Conditions have improved greatly and I see no drawback in any girl coming to do any job, whether in administration or in the factory. I do not see real differences.
